Missouri Art Studio is located in the Garden behind the Southern Hotel Bed & Breakfast.
The Garden offers something a little special for our stressful lives and a relaxing time.

Barn Wood Table

"The foundations of the American nation were laid with the building of its first barn", and now that they are being discarded, Carolyn is preserving that history.

Salvaging and reusing this precious wood preserves a history we can touch and pass on to future generations.

The furniture and accessories she makes from this wood are done by hand, using traditional methods, and suitably attributed with an attached pewter tag detailing a sketch of the barn and its date of construction.

This Best of Missouri Hands artisan has allowed us to touch the past with these elegant additions to our homes.

Willow Furniture

John is a self-taught willow furniture designer/creator.

In 1982 he was encouraged to try his hand at making a bent willow chair.

Making the furniture functional and lasting, as well as balanced and symmetrical, has always been an important part of his craftsmanship.

By consulting experts in forestry and studing kiln drying and wood finishing, he has brought modern technology into his construction techniques, which gives each piece a showroomlike appearance and feel.

Every piece is made from select-cut north Missouri willow that is harvested in a way that encourages regrowth and is environmentally friendly.

We have other pieces such as tables and a settee.

This Best of Missouri Hands craftsman is making tomorrows collectible antiques.
