Missouri Art Studio is located in the Garden behind the Southern Hotel Bed & Breakfast.
The Garden offers something a little special for our stressful lives and a relaxing time.
We have several textile works displayed in the gallery.

Kimono Designs

During an extended stay in Japan, Theresa began designing unique garments for herself using the rich colors and fabrics of kimonos, obis and wedding robes.

They are rich in history and have been given new life as garments we can wear on most any occasion.

These vintage textiles are combined to create one of a kind accessories.

A hand tag describes the garments original use and origin.

A Best of Missouri Hands artisan whose work is now included in the Smithsonian History Museum gift shop.

Hand Weaver

Nancy has been weaving since 1971 and her mastery of the loom is obvious.

These sensual scarves in vibrating colors complement every wardrobe.

These pieces have been affectionately worked by hand, thread by thread, to assure their very uniqueness.

Ancient weavers believed that perfection provoked jealousy from the gods.

These are truly wearable art, by a Best of Missouri Hands artisan.

Silk Paintings

Veronica was born in Mexico City and graduated as a teacher specializing in The Montessori system of education.

After marrying and raising a family she began developing and exploring her creativity.

This led her to an independent study of the Masters as well as formal classes in painting and textiles.

With great joy and inspiration she is led to use color and form freely to create designs that become wearable pieces.

Her use of color and movement has inspired her to go beyond merely production and into sharing the joy of what inspires her.

She hopes that by collecting her artwork you will feel some of that inspiration.
